Brief Overview:
The goal of the Director is to develop and maintain a high quality early childhood educational program that reflects the values of MCLC as put forth in the Mission Statement.

This is a salaried position with bonus opportunities through the STARS program. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include healthcare insurances, paid time off, retirement package and child care.


· Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field of early childhood education OR

· Bachelor’s Degree including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of early childhood education

· Working knowledge of PA Department of Human Services regulations for child care centers, Keystone Stars, and the PA Standards for Infant Toddler, and Pre-kindergarten

· Organizational and leadership skills

· Computer proficiency such as (but not limited to) word, excel and Quickbooks

· Previous management experience in a licensed childcare facility or experience managing faculty/staff preferred

Job Responsibilities:
Director’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Comply with state licensing regulations

· Maintain and annually update an emergency management plan and train staff annually on the emergency procedures as required in DHS's plan outline

· Tour prospective parents and enroll children

· Develop policies with regard to staff, parents and children

· Prepare and submit the yearly budget in collaboration with the subcommittee set by the Board of Directors

· Operate MCLC within the approved budget

· Maintain a system for properly accounting for revenues, expenditures and payroll

· Arrange for purchases of supplies needed to run MCLC

· Prepare payroll and maintain payroll records

· Set the MCLC calendar

· Recruit, hire and terminate staff

· Delegate duties to staff

· Conduct observations and assessments on staff

· Recommend and facilitate early intervention as needed

· Maintain satisfactory working relationships

· Keep effective and confidential records for both student and staff

· Document when necessary, and maintain those documents

· Establish a schedule for parent/teacher conferences

· Conference with parents if there is a concern

· Assure a clean, healthy and safe environment
